Application
Surface Preparation:
The application surface of Polymex-4008 should be free from dust, dirt, oil and other substances that may prevent adhesion. The application should be done within the recoating period of the coating system. In case of application on old coatings, our Technical Service should be consulted for the application method. Tensile strength of the application surface 1,5 N/mm2humidity should be maximum %8. Make sure that the floor temperature is +3 °C above the sublimation point and that it will be this way for at least 6 hours.
Mixing:
Polymex-4008 is supplied in ready-to-use sets according to the mixing ratio. Make sure that the material temperature is between +15/+25 °C before mixing.
Polyurethane Clear Topcoat Coating Component A should be thoroughly mixed with a 300 - 400 rpm mechanical mixer fitted with an Epoxy/Polyurethane Resin mixing tip for 3 - 4 minutes without entraining air. Then, all of the B component should be poured into the A component and make sure that there is no material left in the B component. Polymex-4008; A+B should be mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The material on the side and bottom of the mixing bowl should be thoroughly mixed. The material in the first mixing bowl should be taken into a clean bowl, rested for a while and mixed again for about 1 minute and used.
Application Method:
Polymex-4008 should be applied to the surface with a squeegee, trowel, roller-airles. The surface should be combed sufficiently to minimize traces.
Consumption: 0.5-1.00 kg/m2
Considerations:
During application, if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +25°C, appropriate temperatures should be expected. In addition, application should not be made in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather. For applications to be carried out at appropriate temperatures, the materials to be used should be brought to the application area 1 - 2 days in advance and stored and adapted to the ambient conditions. In applications to be carried out in extremely cold weather, the ambient and ground temperature should be increased with the help of heaters, and the packages should be conditioned at +20 - +25°C to increase the workability of the material and made ready for use.
Polyurethane Clear Topcoat Epoxy and polyurethane based floor systems should be applied by specialized applicators. The working and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient and ground temperature and relative humidity in the air. At low temperatures, the chemical reaction slows down, which prolongs the use time, coating time and working time. At the same time, consumption increases as viscosity increases. High temperatures increase the chemical reaction and the times mentioned above are shortened accordingly. For complete curing of the material, the ambient and ground temperature should not fall below the minimum permissible temperature.
After completion of the coating, the coating should be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. If water contact occurs, this will cause carbonation and softening of the coating, which will cause it to lose its properties. In such a case, the entire coating should be removed from the floor and replaced.
Polymex 4008 Polyurethane Clear Topcoat is supplied in ready-to-use sets. Solvent etc. should not be added into the mixture during application.
If the material is used by pouring from the first mixing container, unreacted free components will remain on the surface without hardening.
Used packaging should be intertwined with each other to ensure adhesion and prevent reuse of packaging.
Cleanliness:
Tools and equipment used after application should be cleaned with solvent. Polymex-4008; Polyurethane Clear Topcoat Coating can only be cleaned from the surface by mechanical methods after hardening.
